Friday: 24th July:

I arrived in King's Cross station at about 4 pm on Friday afternoon - a little tired from the train journey, but I did have two kids fighting on the other side of my table for the WHOLE JOURNEY - which provided a little light entertainment. I called Mark after an hour standing at the platform like a fool, to see what was goin' down. Adam (his best mate) and him were stuck in traffic a couple of miles away, but hoped to be there in 20 minutes or so - with the Beamer :-).

Eventually a suited dude walked up to me, after stepping out of a rolling stereo system - this was Mark :-) - We stepped into Adam's car, and took off into the rush hour traffic with a little drum 'n' bass to aid our trip. The bass in Adam's car is provided by two 14" sub-sub woofers, which basically makes the whole vehicle thump at an inane volume. I provided a little hard house on the way, while we cruised down the M4 at - well, fast enough - and Adam enjoyed the last of my mum's tunafish sandwiches (fair payment for the lift). We reached Adam's place, where I met his parents - (his mum makes a wicked rice dish) - and watched "Class Act" while Adam got ready for the night of clubbing ahead. I would comment on the contents of Adam's room, but I'd rather not be incarcerated before I finish this piece.

We headed off to Mark's place, where we would catch something to eat before heading off into town. Remember this is after an 8 hour train journey, so I wasn't doing too badly for my first London night-life stylee experience.

Take-away was the order of the evening, and we watched the Simpsons before recording some bass-ful tunes for the trip into town. My mixing left a lot to be desired, but the principle was there - Gusto's: "Disco Revenge" followed by Scott Garcia: "It's a London thing" - and of course the seminal classic - Josh Wink: "Higher State of consciousness - (original acid tweekin' funk edit)". We got ready - jeans, shirt, jacket and shoes would do for tonight - nothing tooo special for the Boulevard: Ealing! According to Mark we looked like "proper dappers".
